Wrong ECM flash part number?
I found a list of ECM part numbers for the various models of Dodges over at Dodgetrucks.org. My 06 Mega Cab was flashed by an out of state dealer while I was traveling to correct a check engine light problem. When I looked up the list I found that the part number is for a Dodge Ram 5.9L but the Dodge Ram Mega Cab 5.9L which I have has a different part number. Is this a problem?

I think they just put your VIN# in the system and it tells them the available flashes for it. If your problem was corrected then I'd say you are OK.....

DTR's 'Go to Guy'
I would trust the Dodge computer system before some list at a web site. Basically it is impossible to flash the wrong update into an ECM. The computer only shows updates that will work with the ECM in the vehicle that is hooked up. Anything else will say "no update available" of "wrong module selected".

Thanks for your replies, makes sense. I am going to take my truck in for the fast idle enable and show the service manager the list and see what he says.
