F19 recall, does this apply to 2007 5.9L?

Post 66, dwhite said he had a vent tube issue on his truck that caused trash to get into the tank. Even though they got it fixed it eventually resulted in damage to his fuel system since they didn't clean the tank.

Anyone have any info on this?

IIRC the recall was for 2005 and the 2006 trucks that didn't have a piece of house hooked to it at the factory. The 2007 should of had one put on when it was at the factory. You can crawl under it and look to see if yours has one or not.

Here is a link for the info. It is only for a certain few 2006 models.

Funny thing is those vent lines are missing on trucks all the way back to the 2003 model year. Why they didn't recall 03-05?????????? Go figure.

Read the link above to see why they probably recalled it.

I checked mine after reading about it a while back and no hose on the two open barbed fittings on the front and rear of the tank. There on now with filters on both up by the filler neck.
Don't know of a recall for 07 trucks for this.

What a pitiful decision Dodge made to only check for water and if none found (at the filter cannister drain) they just put hoses on and say its done. You should have seen the inside of my tank.

I just checked my records, I had this recall done after 22K miles which included a trip to Alaska (15K miles). They did not drain the tank as far as I can see. I now have 57K miles on my truck and no problems. Should I try to clean the tank?
