Why do greaseable ball joints last 10,000km only on our 3rd gens?

ia sick and tired of buying ball joints. i bought 2 sets in 30000 km and now own shares in moog/federal mogul. are XRF the way to go and will they last me the summer if i put them on? are they greaseable or adjustable?

greaseable ball joints should last close to forever... if you keep em full of grease.

that's why old time vehicles used to recommend a grease job everytime oil is changed and everytime after going off-road. naturally those vehicle's ball joint last a long time.

planned obsolescence is why mfg use ball joints without grease zerts.
they want most ball joint to last beyond warranty, but not forever. the one that fail due to heavy service... mfg chalk it up as cost of doing business.

solution is to inject grease into ALL balljoints before they go out. after they go dry .. damage is done... it's usually too late.

I was told, our stock ball joints are poor in design.
And mine were shot at 40000 miles light duty.
I trying the xrf joints this time around. different design,
different material.
40000 miles of light duty is pathetic. - Dodge
$550 for uppers is outrageous - Carli
$600 uppers & lowers is maybe sane.- Dyna Trac

250,000kms????is it a 2wd?????WOW
the greaseable joints will not last forever, i don't think any flavor will, the front end is heavy and takes a pounding.
if you have greaseable joints in your truck and don't drive it much, they tend to wear out faster due to moisture and water sitting in them. i have tried that ave before, and it don't pay to have the truck sit, not in the climate i am in.i usually get the non greaeable kind, and they seem to last slightly longer the the greased kind, but i think the next few will be the big dollar Carli joints, and hope to never have to buy them again, or at least get a few yrs before i need to.

hmmmm... this is a new one one me.... normally balljoints, unless defective will last close to forever, if kept full of grease in accordance to duty cycle.

are all 3rd gen truck having premature failures on ALL balljoints?

my 12v doesn't seem to have those type issues when kept full of grease.

mainly its a poor design. the lower ball joint take most of the weight which causes pre-mature wear. also the size of the 3r gens ball joints are smaller than the dana's in the 2 nd gens. i bought a 3rd gen thinking they improved the front ends but the only thing better is the track bar design. i bought a set of xrf ball joints but only the upper is greasble anyones elses xrfs have only 1 grease fitting per wheel?

Well Im pretty sure there not seized, they usally losen up.If you have zerks on them, they have been replaced with aftermarket joints as mopar does not have zerks. To check get the wheels off the ground and see if you have movement at the balljoint up and down and in and out.

Replaced factory BJ.s at 100k.

Have 175k on a set of dana BJ's now. Still tight and they seem to be doing well. I use amsoil waterproof grease in em.

Will prolly replace em when they get 250k on em whether they need it or not.

Still rolling on the factory hub bearings too. I just greased em a couple days ago.

Had to replace the wheel u joints. Heck I got 275k out of em. Cant complain about that. I put some US made napa greaseables in em. Filled em with amsoil waterproof grease too.

Im thinking if one uses a good waterproof grease in all that front end stuff, one will increase the life cycle.

I think that salt gets in there and makes things ugly. Since amsoils waterproof grease repels most everything Im thinkin its a good thing.

Mine went about 200,000 miles. I had to replace uppers, lowers, tie rods, and hubs.
