white smoke
white smoke
Let me see if i can describe my problem, i read a ton of past threads and couldnt find one that talked about my prob exactly, my truck seems to idle fine and starts easy, i have changed fuel filter and run FPPF in my tank and also filled my fuel filter housing with it, cranked the truck and let it run for a little while to get the additive to the injectors and let it sit over night( this was recommended to me by my local fuel injection shop) the prob i have is this, when i come off the clutch and start to accelerate in get a poof of white smoke, this happens whether the truck is cold or hot, if i let out of the clutch without applying any pedal at all and then push it right back in without proceeding to accelerate i get a rough idle until i give the engine some revs and it cleans itself out, this is the only time im getting white smoke, dosnt seem to have it any other time during acceleration, this is an 03 with about 200 thousand miles and its the 305 hp engine, i also checked the exaust manifold temps at idle, all the holes seemed to read relatively close to the same temp except 1 and 4 which were about 10 degrees cooler, i dont know if that is telling me that those 2 holes need injectors or if that is normal on diesels, on gas burners that is how we used to check for lean cylinders so i wasnt sure if that principal applied to diesels also, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks
