white/bluish smoke & rough idle on startup

On my truck, I had the injectors replaced under warranty. Nothing was wrong, but dealer said they go out. 6 months later, the truck smokes and runs rough for 5-15 seconds. Then it clears up. It isnt a huge amount of smoke, but I can see it pretty good. Is this an injector issue? If so, how do you test to see? It runs just fine after.

white smoke and rough idle likely from excess unburnt fuel leaking down from injector(s) after truck sits for a while. If you said it started doing this right after the dealer replaced the injectors with more of a hard start issue i would say they didnt get the connector tubes properly seated/torqued. Dealer can look at %contribution from each injector with scan tool but you really need to have the bench tested to know what the deal is. seems soon for new injector problems what kind of fuel filtration do you have?

This just started happening recently. The injectors were changed in Nov of last year. I run a fuel filter from wix. The one that it shows in their books. Not sure of what the number is. Is this a problem if I continue to let it do this? It seems like everything is breaking right now. Camper, tractor, car, and now this. 2 things are in the shop now.

Get rid of the Wix filter. Run a Baldwiin or Fleetguard filter. If they didn't replace all 6, you have another injector going bad.

Does the injector get worse, or does it run like this? I can live with it like this if I know it wont screw anything else up worse.

Id pull the Wix and get a Baldwin PF7977. It is currently one of the better stock housing style filters offered for our trucks. I run in conjunction with a 2 micron CAT 1R-0750. It sounds like you're too late to save your injector(s).
It might just be a sticky injector though. Try running a good dose of Power Service to clean them out and give the truck a little work-out. Its worth a shot. But get that Wix outta there for sure, its not helping matters much. Good luck and post back with results.
