Where to install mech. temp. sensor in '05

Where to install mech. temp. sensor in '05

carry on for 2005 cummins overheats completely at 2500+rpms

Where is the best spot to put a mechanical sensor in my engine? ive heard to tap a hole in the thermistat housing but i want it in the block
i think the dash gauge is messed up so i want to know

There's a few extra 1/2" plugs in the top of my head. I think I'd put it close to the tstat so I could see if it's working. Have you replaced the tstat with the Cummins part? Mine was shot in less than 60k miles. Craig

well my stock tstat was fine when i replaced it, and nothing changed
