when cold, truck acts WEIRD
Single digits temperature, after start up, the throttle to actually truck moving is disconnected. What I mean is that you push on the go pedal and nothing happens, then after a delay, the truck may go by itself.
It pulls several codes, unfortunately I do not have them written down in front of me.
Has anyone else experienced this? If the truck warms up / drive 5 miles, the problem goes away.
Supposedly my renter has this same issue on his Duramax / previous chevy diesels.
first time it happen to me, I thought it was bad fuel but it turns out to be repeatable based on temperature (note the truck is not plugged in).
thanks for any advice on what is going on
could it be a frozen battery?

Truck acts weird at cold start up - Bump
Anyone?
Someone must have had this issue besides me.
If the truck is not plugged in and really cold outside, say single digits, am I supposed to wait and let it idle for some period of time.
The manual in my truck as well as in my diesel VW states not to idle when cold, simply drive it normal.

I would let it idle enough for the oil pressure to build up, and then just give it about a minute to get itself together until the engine idle smooths out. After that you can go ahead and go because it's not going to make any heat or what not while it's just idling. Also at the same time, put the transmission in neutral. This will allow the fluid to circulate through the transmission and fill the torque converter properly before you put in Drive.
As far as the pedal issue, I've had instances where there is a slight hesitation in the throttle when cold, but yours sounds like it's of more magnitude. Does it have a lot of lag or just a slight bit. Your problem could possibly be solved by doing what I mentioned above about putting the transmission in neutral while it's idling for that little bit before you go. If you don't do that, and then just drop the shifter in drive, then the torque converter isn't able to properly "bite" on the shaft in the transmission and it might give you a slight hesitation or shudder.

Don't take it to Dodge, they'll have no idea why it happens...

The transmission pump doesn't operate in park. Either start your truck in neutral or put it in neutral right after you start it. Let it idle 20 seconds in neutral and you'll build tranny pressure and it will go immediately.
I would say the lag is 5 to 7 seconds, sometimes even nothing.
I will try the neutral idea
Truck will pull several codes - probably still stored. I will check the strength of the batteries this week

Sorry, can't help any more than that.
The codes you posted are APPS codes. To cure the codes you need to replace the TPS and they are spendy.
I had the same problem with my early 04 3500. I pulled my hair out trying to figure it out and initially ruled out the APPS because it only happened when cold and went back to normal once the truck warmed up. It also ran perfect all summer long without any incident. Mine gradually got worse during the cold months and would leave me on the side of the road with a dead pedal several times before finally warming up. I tried everything including disconnecting my heater grid with no luck. Not believing it would correct my problem, I replaced my APPS with one of the ones available through Timbo. I figured I would at least eliminate it as a possible cause of my problem. To my surprise it fixed my problem thus far, even when it was down to 29 degrees. The only thing I can think of is that the cold temperature causes something inside to expand or seize and thus malfunction, once warm the APPS returns to normal. I hope this helps
