What's the factory horsepower rating of 2003 - 2004 CTDs??

If the hp number on the data plate on the engine is 305 or above and it has an auto, it's a 48re.

I have this one:

2004:
235/460 in CA with the 48RE

In Ohio. That's a bad day. I don't tow much over 7-8k pounds so it's ok for me, but if you're gonna do heavy loads, buyer beware.

My 03 doesnt have a data plate on the VC. Its located where? I think its an early 03, 5 speed, so only 250 horse/450 tq.

On the drivers side of the black plastic valve cover-cover. There should be a white sticker with all of the engine specs. There you should see 250 HP/460TQ.

Clarified a few things for me also. Just wondering if anybody knows what the date was on the change from 03 to 03.5 or how to tell the difference (I know its posted somewhere but I couldnt find it).
