What stall speed do i want?
Have a 2004QC short box 2wd auto, towing a 9000lb rv, no power mods has 120 000 miles. Trans-Tech in Wpg mb is going to go through the trans adding the billet things strut etc. no billet shafts don't think i need them. Going to abillet converter that they build single disc should hold anything i could or would add. What is a good stall ? bulider says stock, big online retailers say a low stall would work fine but no numbers just a 87% from one. I though i wanted a lower stall 2200 seemed high when starting up, lots say lower is better need some good advice Laurie
I wouldn't go stock...it's too high IMHO.
Here's some info from Goerend's site, but it really depends on who is building the tranny, what converter they use and what their expertise says.

Now another question, if i go to a lower stall say 1700 will i have trouble getting the turbo to spool up when it shifts, or backing the rv into an uphill spot. The builder seems to know his stuff has his own race/street truck had tour of shop quite impressive and lots of the "good" parts in stock . Iam begining to think i may need a Smarty to make a low stall work Thanks Laurie
these engines are rated at full torque at 1600RPM. Wouldn't that mean the turbo is up to boost. Economy/pulling says go with the lower. Drag racing go with the higher. That's what I would do.
