What size socket for the filter canister?

I've done it before but my mind is blank. What size socket [metric or standard] do I need to get the lid off the filter canister?

I looked on my service manual disk and all it says is ..."place the large socket here" LOL

thanks

By the time you get a reply Scotty, you could have just tried a couple out and figured it out!

I figured you could just grab it between your thumb and pinky.

A pipe wrench that will open to at least 1 1/8" might just do the trick!!

Yeah but my knee hates the steps up and down so I thought I could find out here. Less strain on the knee means less pain for everyone around me.

I have a 30mm socket here that will work...its the 1-1/8" metric answer.

Thanks...I think.

Socket Size

1 1/8" socket is the size that you want to get the fuel filter lid off.

A big a$$ bolt stripper, aka crescent wrench, will also work. It's got to be a big one though!!!

Used a 30mm socket and all was fine.
I knew there was a reason I had that in the tool box.

I talked to them about combining my fuel kit with their system via email and never got a reply. Several folks I know have done this and are happy.
Some day...maybe.
