For me it's 5W-40 Schaeffer 9000. 7,500-10,000 miles between oil changes. Fleetguard filters for now, until I use up my stockpile, then gonna switch to Baldwin filters.

Fleetguard Cellulose LF3972 or Stratapore LF16035? If you are currently running the LF16035 and go to the Baldwin you will run a lesser filter.

Good grief. Another one I would take the oil off your hands and run it another 15,000 miles.

I agree...
If you insist in changing the oil that often (some prefer to), at least keep the filter in place... that would reduce your costs without any ill effects.

I m using delvaco I change it on 10000 miles , when I was driving semi truck the oil change was on 10000 miles same oil ,Mobil delvaco , but semi truck puts way more hours in the period of 10000 miles so that tells you all

If oil gets black that does mean it is no good

people like to throw money away for no reason

For me, new oil = new filter. Many or most of my trips are <10 miles so 15K miles would be 2 years. Seems a little long and I think short runs are harder on oil.

In a previous post on this thread I said I use Esso XD3 - 0-40 full synthetic. I went to buy some today at the Esso Bulk Dealer and the name has been changed to Mobil Delvac 0-40. The guy swears that it is the same oil only the name has changed. I change oil between 200 and 250 hours Depending on how many cold starts, short trips etc. Donalson filter is also changed at that time and the Amsoil bypass filter is changed every second oil change. I run 0-40 all year long and I am on oil analysis.

Oil Change

How often do you think they change the Synthetic Oil In the jet engines flying over your head every day?

You are talking two totally different designs like night and day. There are no journal bearings in a jet engine, they use roller bearings and ball bearings. Jet engine oil is a straight 30w oil and when it is at operating temp it is equivilant to a 10w oil. Jet engine oil will eat through every seal on a automobile engine.
