I run Shell Rotella T 15W40 also. Actually just changed it yesterday evening, including Fleetguard Stratopore filter. Got the Rotella at Walmart for $7.44 a gallon X 3.

Is there any scientific proof that running any particular oil is better than another brand? I hear good things about them all. I change mine every 5000 miles. Is there any reason my engine won't go a million miles changing the oil every 5000 miles running Rotella?

Some people say they don't like the "smell" of Rotella......I don't even notice it. What would make Valvoline Premium Blue or Delo or even Amsoil any better than Rotella? It sounds to me like if you just run a major brand and change it regularly..........your engine will be fine.

Is there any documented engine failures because of running brand X?

Right now I'm using travellers 15 40 from Tractor Supply. I still haven't fixed the rear seal so I'm adding about a gallon a week.
