It won't make much if any difference in turbo noise. You'll get a slight gain in MPG and your exhaust will smell like a real diesel again. It might be a little louder as well.

My 2005 lost the cat and muffler at the same time. Looking through the cat you can see light about the diameter of a pencil... Restrictive in my book.
The result was a very loud truck, I ended up buying a cheep 4" straight muffler which took the sharp edge away from the sound.

It'll void your warranty. When I took my truck in last time they told I needed to put it back on. They're suppose to report it to DC as soon as they find it. They said it'll "overspool" the turbo without it. A bunch of bull IMO. But they can void it with their great reasoning.

I don't really have any drone. My dealer doesn't give a rats behind that my cat is missing. I'd say some of you guys have some trigger happy dealers that will void your warranty if you look at them wrong.

IMO the ONLY drawback of not having the cat is that some states will fine you and technically it's a violation of federal law, but some states don't enforce it (like mine). Anything about it being bad for the engine is total BS.

Don't expect to see a performance gain or really any other improvement with the cat removal. Only reason I installed a test pipe was to alleviate the problem of any future clog up.

I don't know if my EGT's decreased or not because I don't have gauges installed.

I've had mine off for about 8 months and don't know *** this 'drone' is that you guys are always talking about. I love the way my truck sounds and wouldn't change a thing.

no cat here, replaced stock muffler with 51" FleetGuard muffler and it sounds deep and nice! No drone!

Any emissions testing? It is a Federally mandated part of the emissions system. My test have shown no restrictions under heavy commercial use.

or you could do like 53 ****** did. He put 5in turbo back, cut the cat to fit the new 5 in exhaust and welded the cat to the 5in pipe. that way you pass the visual (which is all they would do with a diesel) and still have 5in exhaust. you could even gut it and it would still pass visual.

Actually all you will hear are the black helicopters with "EPA" stenciled on the side, wait come to think of it you might not even hear them as they circle your house. I'd wear my tinfoil hat just in case.
