what does clutch slippin feel like?

I'm curious to this exactly.

I know how it feels when engaging, I've felt it in a friends car before, but in regards to my truck when I dump on it on the freeway, at like 60-65 the rpms jump to 2700-2900 then drop back down, it grabs and takes off.

It started happening right before deployment and since I'm heading home soon I started thinking about my truck again and was worried about this.

I just want to make sure my assumption is correct and what can I do to fix this.

I got 95k on her now.

I will also be putting on 33's over the 31's I have on it currently as I do lots of highway commuting.

AFE cold air intake (I'll take suggestions on a better set up here btw), smarty JR, deletion pipe, CFM intake manifold.

Thanks for any help

Yup, your clutch is slipping!
I have had to turn my Smarty down to level 1 now Level 2 and 3 will slip mine badly in 4th to 6th. I am actually very easy on it now at level 1. 2nd to 4th are real strong still but 5th and 6th slip slightly. A new Valair is in my near future. Looks like I will be asking Mrs Claus for this for Christmas

The one I am looking at is about $1100. Includes new hydraulics and a new flywheel.

well crap...

from what I'm reading about clutches across this website though, everyone swears by the south bend clutches.

I don't think I need a triple disc super whamadyne competition sled pulling monster clutch, but with the power I already have and the other things I'd like to do I think I will go with a double disc clutch.

I do have money with both my wife and I on deployment, but I went and saw her in Rota 2 months ago (my captain let me go luckily) and now I have a little one on the way!

I figured I should get some of my upgrades and repairs done before he/she shows up...

any info regarding clutches I'm highly appreciative to hear!!!!

South Bend and Valair are both great clutches and have great customer service. Can't go wrong with either one.

The only major thing was a tranmission a while back and keeping the truck up by fixing the little things that always seem to go out at the wrong time.

your truck has a dual mass flywheel this is the first time i have ever heard of one lasting that many miles. get a southbend conofe kit. they sell many of them each day so all you have to do is mention the g56. the dmf probably has caused the front seal on the g56 to start to weep. change it out and go back with seven quarts of pennzoil syncromesh this is one quart over full you are going to have the shifter out just add the last quart in the top you must do all of the above to get it to last.
