Went and did it...new truck
After asking a few questions and getting a "feel" for the Dodge trucks from this site, I went and dropped a deposit on a 2500 tonight. Shes a silver quadcab 4x4 with the big box and I can't wait to pick her up on Thursday.
One thing I did notice while driving around to different dealers looking for the perfect rig for me is the stance of the Power Wagons. They look good sitting a bit taller than the other trucks, will the front springs of a 2500 Power Wagon level off my 2500 SLT, they all seem to sit a bit nose heavy?

I can't answer your spring question but I do know that the Cummins is quite a bit heavier then the Hemi. If you realy want you can add a 2" leveling kit to make it sit the same height as the rear.
Congrats on the new truck, you'll love it.

Thanks guys
The reason why I ask about the PW springs is it's a Dodge part and therefore should have no reason whatsoever to void the warranty. A leveling kit could give the dealership a backdoor out of the warranty if they really wanted it.
Nate , how does that truck ride with the 4" kit?

My truck w/ the lift, 35's and a steering stabalizer rides decent for what it is. It rides smooth and not to rough, I actually like it over the stock ride alot better.
Thanks guys

Your right it's a dodge part... However like mentioned before, the cummins sits a heck of a lot heavier than the hemi or whatever else they put on it. That PW sits on a 1500 frame. More than likely the front springs aren't going to be beefy enough
Welcome!!! and congrats!!!!!!

The leveling kit doesn't void warranty I called up dealership and asked them before I put it on and also checked if it would mess with anything and they said no just come in an we'll recalibrate your speedo..
Yeah I kinda figured the PW springs wouldn't be up to the task, but it was worth asking. I guess most dealers wouldn't have a problem with the leveling kits (it doesn't really alter the geometry as much as a full-on lift) but at the same time it does give them a way out of the warranty if they really wanted to be sticklers. I'm gonna run the truck for about a year and then think about a kit to level it. Just don't like the dog sniffing in the weeds look that much, it needs some help in the front.
Thanks for the welcome guys, can't wait to get this thing and start putting some mileage on her.
Whats the best way to break it in?

Just have your dealer install the leveling kit.. All of them do it here.. They even sell the hugely lifted trucks.. I lifting my 05 6" with 37's and they loved the truck.. The mechanic didn't because he took all four tires off and then dropped it to the groundto work on it!!

I read your link to the cab light install, great bit of info there. One poster said that he felt sick about drilling holes in his $40000 truck. I can realate to that, last year I drilled two 1 1/2" holes and inserted 2 brass sleaves with a flaring tool into the transom of my boat for added deck drainage. Can't begin to say how many times I measured and checked the angle before starting the drill.
What's the general thought on breaking in the 5.9 in these trucks?
