Weird ticking, hissing sound starts at 2000rpm...

I have weird ticking slash hissing sound coming from my rig and cant figure it out. Truck runs normal , no codes. The sound starts right at 2000 rpm and you can hear it pretty good when you change gears. Everything looks tight, i cant get the truck to do it in the driveway with the hood up. Any thoughts?

I have the same thing on my truck. It only makes the noise if I put a load on the engine above 2000 RPM. That's exactly how I would describe the sound to.

We might both be crazy. I can hear mine in the cab. I was wondering if you could hear your injection pump? I dont notice anything performance wise.

TDR issue 53 has Q&A in the beginning. Two people described something like this and the answer was injection pump spring worn and ticking because it was worn out and tapping against the housing. Pump failed and they found one of the two springs inside worn down a coil and a half.

Are you talking about a spring in the CP3 high pressure pump or the lift pump?

I get a similar kind of sound, not the ticking so much as the hissing or whineing. I can't boost over 30 psi and I think they may be related. Truck goes in tomorrow for service.
