Well im on my way to being very successful at breaking everything in dodge cummins haha thank god im single cant imagine what a wife would say haha. first off i went out of town to work leaving my dodge sitting outside, when i left it was around -1 c or so.. then it got really cold -40c ish. well i came home for christmas hop in the dodge warm her up and go to shift into drive and snap.. nothing my gear shifter is free wheeling
appparently the cable must have got some condensation of some sorts in it and froze solid snapping it. Apon further exploration i found it snapped right where the slide looking dealy connects to the actual shift rod in the interior of the truck. well cant wait to see what this is going to cost me..
Any ideas of what a cable would cost? or am i the only dummy who has broken one lol. and if someone has would it be easy to install myself? thanks for any advice. cheers!

that was EXACTLY my reaction too!
I lived near Albany NY 26 years ago and it was exactly this time of year... My wheels froze to the ground and the car would not move. I had never heard of winter weight oil either... so my oil got so thick my starter could not crank... then, of course, my battery went dead trying to start the car.
Don't miss any of that.

The extreme cold really messes with our trucks. I feel your pain. I bought my 06 in Arizona, and I think it is ****** off at me for subjecting it to our brutal winters. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=227726
