Weird problem?

I have had this happen a few times now. THe first time I was pulling my 24 foot gooseneck with a truck on it crossing a 4 lane highway. When I take off as the tranny is about to go into 2nd gear and I am right at 2K RPMS I lose ALL power. It is like the motor shuts off for about 3 seconds. Then when it kicks back on the exhaust is really deep and it takes off like normal. It has done this about 5 times now and it is always at 2K RPMS right before it shifts into 2nd gear. It has never done it at higher speeds. I do know I need to change the fuel filter but I would think if the filter was the problem it would be doing it at other speeds especially when I am pulling a load and going up a steep hill.

Some other experts will be along soon, but I bet it is something in the tranny like the TQ slipping or a governor valve issue. You may be starting out in second and it drops like that trying to lock in the TQ.

I know that it is for sure starting out in first gear. I can tell that much. It did it a few times today and everytime it would hold first gear until 2K RPMs and then when it goes to 2nd it takes about 3 seconds to get into gear. But also what is weird is when I am between gears I cant rev up the motor. The RPMS just slowly drop until it takes off.

I already knew that and I have told the dealership it is doing that but they couldnt ever get it to do it. I have had 3 dodges that have done that and the governor pressure soldenoid and switch replacement always takes care of it. The new problem isnt gear hunting it is just taking a few seconds to get into 2nd gear.

I did take it to the dealership today and they checked it out this morning and said I had a erratic speed sensor messed up.
