The truck is the truck in my signature. Here is the story.

Went 15 minutes to the next town over to do some errands and give the truck a bath. It's 60*F here so why not I'll use the A/C for a bit. I noticed a slight noise then but it just sounded like a normal A/C unit kicking in and out as usual. Spent 45 minutes then made the drive back home. Come to town hit the single stop light and then the noise starts. It's loud, sounds like grinding but not really(Kinda like an old mechanical 12valve). Coming from Drivers side of the motor but does not sound like a knock. It's UTD and within spec of it's vitals. Climb over 1200rpm it goes away and sounds like a champ.

I have checked connections on the Edge, and everything else I could find. I do have a recording of the sound, but due to it being from my cell it's not all that good but will upload/send if anyone thinks they can help.

mine started to make a similar noise, the transfer case was almost a quart low, added fluid-no more noise.

 

Was this noise of yours active while in park, neutral and all other gears? Mine does it when at dead stop in neutral.

Flex plate gave up. Getting a one piece suncoast and hope to be done with that.
