Weird noise for a second

This is my first post/question. I been reading these forums for a while and is loaded with great info.

I was wondering if someone could tell me whats wrong with my truck. This has happened twice now. I pull out of a parking lot and accelerate normally and i loose power and white smoke comes out of the exhaust. It only happens for a second or two and then clears up and runs fine. When it does happen there is some popping under the hood or what sounds like firecrackers. Anybody ever have this happen? Is a dirty injector? Bad injector?

Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like draining the rail with the popping, but not the smoke.
your rail pressure relief valve may be popping open and sticking, then resetting....

A check engine light comes on but the attitude clears before i can tell what codeit is. How would i check if the relief valve is sticking? Where is it located?

you will see the fuel rail, you will see this.
the relief valve has the polished pipe in the lower right of the photo. (yours will not be shiny, nor have a cutaway of the heater)

WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER TURNING IT OFF!!! remove the banjo connector holding that pipe to the relief valve. there should be NO fluid in it. if no fluid, you have another issue. if fluid, you have a bad relief valve, about $400.

hey guys. I see in your sig you use the edge juice. I have an 05 and I purchased the juice set-up and every time I used it, I would hear a muffled popping sound from the engine and it would throw a code. It didn't matter if it was level 1 or level 5, it did it. I don't remember the code off hand but it had to do with no signal to injector 3 or something. Well, I have dumped the juice setup and it never did it again. I had been using a TS ramifier for a while, right after dumping the juice box and I never had that popping sound again. I think your problem may be in your juice. However, when my juice was set to stock, no problems.

Mine has done it since the minute I installed it. I was only able to use the monitor for gauges. Whenever I would take the level off stock, the problem was immediate whether I hit the pedal hard or babied it. Any way, I hope you get it figured out.

Pulled the banjo bolt off and found diesel in there. I guess this means the valve is going bad. Does anybody know if the part in under waranty? Is this normal for the valave to last only 50K miles?
