Water Pump

I have ~107000 miles on my truck and followed the mainenance schedule to have my cooling system serviced at 100,000 miles. Well, my water pump went out yesterday, I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem...?

Oh yes........I just did mine on my own at 127k. It was a fairly simple job. Take off the belt and its only two bolts. I got my pump for 59.00 and had it done in 30 minutes.....you need to drain about 5 gallons of coolant out before you unbolt the pump.......slide the old one out.....slide the new one in and put the belt back on.....which is the most difficult part of the job....the old pump had alot of play in the shaft and from the research I did...they all go bad around this mileage.....I will do mine again at 250k as part of regular maintance it was so simple......hope that helps

Average life span for these water pumps is about 70k. One of the simplest things to R&R on our trucks IMO

Well, thank you for the advice, next time I will do just that, since my truck was at Dodge already they replaced it for a small fee of $670.

Heck, they had the water pump at $308, where did you buy yours?
