Myself personally. I would go back in, ask for their solution in writing. I mean a mans word is not a mans word when dealing with Chrysler. If they fail to put it in writing, then I would Strike up the conversation with them but with a tape recorder in your pocket with one of those extra long tapes. Have them say their cute little words of bad practice. Make sure that you identify the names of the persons involved. Then make a few copies of the said tape.
First copy let the GM of the dealership hear it while sitting with the district rep and the SM. Next copy, have it in a sealed envelope with DC's Addresse on it. The next copy have it with Banks addressse, the next with the consumers warrenty group, and yet another to the Automotive services group for fair practice. Last but not least have a copy of it for yourself, and if requested provide a bonifide seperate copy to the REP, GM or SM for the the cost of a new CP3.

Although I am not sure about your laws in the US, here in Canada you are allowed to tape conversations such as this for your own personalle referance back to the original conversation. With out informing the other party. Although it may not be used in court, it sure opens peoples eyes when you let them listen to their own words.

If all else fails have your brakes fail when you acidently drive thrue the front of the dealership due to your engine stalling because of the injector pump failing.
Dont give them your banks set up. If you do tell them you will sell it.

Ya know what I'd do. I'd recored the converstation of them telling me that if I give them my box they'd reinstate my warranty. Then I'd make 2 copies. I'd send one to Chrysler and the other one to the local news station. I'm sure the news station would have a field day with this and Chrysler would love to see it in the morning news.

Why on earth are you still letting these guys bully you around?!?! You need to find a lawyer and have him do the negotiating for your warranty. Make sure that he is familiar with the MM Act and threaten legal action against the all parties involved: the dealership, the GM, and the SM. Offer to pay for the CP3 yourself. You have taken more than enough steps to make them happy by returning your stuff to Banks. Sounds like an undue stress and aggravation lawsuit to me. Just my $.02

Speaking of extended warranties... For the past 4 or 5 cars, I have bought the bumper to bumper extended warranty. I have only had to use it once, and initially I got screwed. I ended up calling the preseident and CEO of Ford's office to get a resolution.. Something about the way they did the paperwork that looked a bit fraudulent to me, and Ford agreed. (No date entered service on my copy, theirs had one though) Any wya, I figure with nearly 45K in the hands of Dodge, I had better **** well NOT have need of it or they will have a truck stuck in their front display window.

Reminds me of the time I parked a Van up against the front door of GMAC corporate finance office and locked the keys in it and headed for the airport and Europe after they informed me I could not take the vehicle out of the country. I even had a signed document from them when I bought it two months earlier saying no problem....

Ya that is what happens always pull your stuff before taking it in. However my freind blew his engine in his ford he had a chip and propane ford cancelled his warranty also but he took them to court because he is crazy. His argument was trucks blow up and break that don't have chips and other mods, long story short he won ford replaced!

Sorry for not getting back sooner. This has been a long process but the final outcome is , I have too fork out $1500 for the CP3 and then I will get my warranty back on my truck!

I admit I am a little tired of all the crap that we go through with dealers, manufactuers etc bailing when they find the smallest little excuse. Parts break. Changes and improvements happen every day.

You go out and have a fender bender, and the body shop puts on the cheapest copy they can find, not factory parts in most cases, and nobody says a thing. The Insurance company says read the fine print... Well It is time the consumers are able to have some recourse.

We should be able to improve our vehicles, and it should be incumbant on the Manufacturers to PROVE that our modifications do indeed cause a part ot fail. ANd they should have to prove that the part in Question would NOT have failed without the modification as well. It all seems so subjective, and not based on actual factual data.

UNLESS the aftermarket part caused the damages to the system, you SHOULD be covered under the Magnuson-Moss Act. The bad part is, you may have to hire an attorney to do so, and even then, it's going to be HARD to win your case..

I don't have an aftermarket chip on mine, but I do have an Airraid air filter, which according to my local Dodge Service manager that will void the warranty, so I take it off when I go in. It's easier to avoid this situation when they don't know it exist's.

Well, I drive a now bombed 2001. Anywho, first, a cracked injector supply line. No warrenty. That was at 38k miles. Second, a failed oil pressure sending unit AND a failed vaccum pump seal. Those both around 70k miles. That was $450. The same time the dealer did those they checked my lift pump. While it DID meet dodges "flow requirements" it didn't maintain proper pressure. At 112k my injection pump starting going south. most likely because of the lift pump they wouldn't replace. This was all on a bone stock truck. So why do I have to pay and don't even get to play?

I myself would read between the lines. Fireman, take them up on their offer if it not too late. You give them your box. They replace your CP3 and "reinstate" your warranty. Get that in writing. After you get your truck back fixed with the warranty, go buy a new banks box and put it on. If you have any more problems when you take it in (minus the box) and they say you are voided because of the box tell them their info is wrong because you "USED" to have one on but dodge said if you PROMISED to not install another we will give you back your warranty. They have proof you had the box. But it may sound like "their" scan tool is mistaking what they find now for what has happened in the past. Sounds like the perfect shady way to play their game.

Ya'll play or payers quitsher biotchin, don't wanna hear it.
