voltage drop truck no start

voltage drop truck no start

So my truck has slowly started getting hard to start and now it died on me and won't start my dad said that the truck needs 10v to start the battery's drop below 9v also my truck has been sputtering and falling on its face could the voltage be my problem or dose anyone have some answers I'm new to diesel And this is my only vehicle

Clean the battery terminals and inspect the cable ends then charge the batteries these diesel trucks take a lot of power to get started and also need a good ground electrically. They use low voltage sensors for almost everything so any sudden variation in that sensor signal will make the truck do funny things.

Ok so I just put 2 new cat battery's in and it has more then enough power now I think it is something with fuel any ideas

Ok it's an 04.5 5.9 cummins the codes are p0088 p0148

Hmm, I'm not a space shuttle guy, so I will let others chime in, if nobody does, i can move this to the 03-07 forum where more guys might see it.

OK that would be great thank you for your help if I get it fixed I will let every one know how to fix it I had a guy tell me he has been fighting the po148 for 2 years in another thread I had

From what little I had time to read, I think it is something in the FCA or FCA connector, the one who resolved the issue found corrosion at the FCA connector.

Looks like both codes are pointing to a fuel problem. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? When you drain your fuel filter housing, catch the fuel so you can at least check it to see if it is contaminated.

Try to fix P0088 first.
It's either the RP sensor/connector or the FCA/connector.

Update ok so after checking the fca I then found that the pressure on the fass was at 0 and found a lose fitting on the suction side and fixed it now it is running nice thank you guys for ur help

Clear all DTCs.
Monitor LP pressure at CP3 for futher diagnostic.

I clears the dtcs and it came back with 3 new ones I have not checked the pressure at the cp3 but my fass keeps losing prime and my glow plug light will come one and chime at me when driving the codes are P0148 p0521 p1223 I'll check the cp3 pressure today thank you guys for the help
