Very loud knocking

Lately the last 2 days I have been experiencing a very loud knock. It only occurs when the motor is cool, and after it warms up it goes away. To describe the knock, it sounds like a hammer hitting the side of my block lightly. When it is doing this I can turn my Quad box off and the knocking decreases. Now i believe it is fuel related. Could it be the CP3 or would it be an injector? Also if you listen in the exhaust when the truck idles cold you can hear a ticking. Could it also be a valve problem hitting the piston? Thanks guys.

this could be why your fuel pressure has been acting up

True but the fuel pressure problem has been traced to my isolator. I put an inline T and got my 16 psi back. So im still puzzled on the knocking.

I bet an injector. Get yourself a stethescope and listen to each injector line. See which one is making an abnormal noise from the rest.
Then go to the Delearship and have them perform an injector kill test while driving your truck when the knocking happens.

Is there any chance it is the CP3?

Depends on the how frequent the knock is. If every injector is knocking then yes. But if it is only one then no.

I have the same problem when I turn my bullydog on with the juice when I run just one I am fine. I think the cp3 isn't fueling enough to keep up with the bully dog and edge.

knocking may be timing related, with your stack, you might be too advance and experiencing detonation when the motor is cold.
