Extended warranty?

I'm going through with the truck I mentioned in my earlier post, a new 05 Cummins 6 spd 4x4.
I'm wondering if the extended warranty is a good idea?
They want $2600 (Cdn) to extend it to 7 year, 115,000 km, (I average about 15k per year).
The warranty includes ball joints, having the 4 of them done is close to $1000 these days and I think they are suspect aren't they?
Any advice?
Thanks
Will

I didn't have one and at 40k my whole electrical system went. The amount ot fix it was just crazy so I traded it in for a new one. Somehow that was cheaper. It also give you a rental car. If you think it is worth it it is. Good luck

If you do be careful and read all the small print. I bought one on a Toyota p/u several years ago. (5 yr, 100k mi) Carried it back in warranty, but was told that because the timing belt was'nt changed @ 60k, my warranty was void!
