valve clatter noise?

2005 6spd 4x4. I have had all 6 injectors replaced , I have ran bg's 244 injector cleaner through the engine. I have adjusted the valves, checked all the rocker arm and bridge torques, twice. But I still have what sounds like a rocker arm tick, it's loud at about 1200rpms and up, and at cruise when you you clutch to slow down, when the motor is under no load. the truck runs great, good milage. it has 83000 miles on it. the dealer said it is normal for these trucks to do it at this mieage.

Not sure if I have the same noise but mine makes a similar noise when accelerating up to speed. As soon as I let off the throttle ever so slightly, smooth as glass. Mine does it WORSE when running additives. But the truck runs awesome, lots of power, and won't do it really unless loaded and colder. Once warmed up really smooths out. Does this describe your noise?

I am having similar clattering in my truck. I have fun bg diesel conditioner in every tank of fuel. However, I have not yet adjusted my valves which is next on the list to do. I ran across this thread https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=209741 which seems to be similar symptons.

Mine has 83k miles and is quieter than when new, but I've done a few things. Use a long screwdriver, hold it by the tip and tap on things in the engine compartment. A couple of zip ties took care of some small stuff and some shaped closed cell foam took care of a big rattle which was the hood latch. I was running Stanadyne but last year started blending it with the Stanadyne lube additive, and it ran a bit quieter. The fan clutch was also shot, I could move the fan back and forth an inch or so, so I repalced that. Running Delvac 1 5W40 has also made it run quieter.

I'm interested in a solution to the sound too. My truck has had the valve clatter sound ever since it was new especially at low RPMs getting up to speed. It comes and goes just like everyone elses.

Took it to the dealer and they told me it was normal.

Yeah, I got something like that the last time I went.

"It's just the harmonics of the engine."

It's NORMAL, mine comes and goes. With & without programmers & boxs. I adjusted my valves at 100k, or better yet checked them. I did adjust them but they were so close it was not even funny. The noies is some type of injector knock. I cane hear mine soemtimeswhen I easy off the clutch in my garage. A few winters ago it carried on. At ilde my truck sitting still sounds almost like a gasser, the noise comes with a slight load & sometimes coming down off rpm's.

Mine did not do it when new but after it was pretty much broke in... Worse when towing, but usually smooth once up to speed or if I drive 70 really quiet... Unloaded you can barely hear it. Some additives to help but most of the time the additives make it worse.. LOL
