Not to hard, if you have a lift its much easier. JMHO. Your going to loose allot of the trans fluid when you do and its messy. A trans shop can do it in about 1/3 of the time if you want to spend the $$. Adjust the bands while your there. Goerends and DTT are highly recommended. I went it Goerends because of their excellent customer service.

Local tranny shop told me $150

I did it myself and saved the coin

Not too bad. I don't consider myself an expert. I did injectors in my 01, as well as exhaust, etc. I can do brakes, change oil, etc.

The hard part for me was when you lift the valvebody up to put in place, you have to get the shift rod in there correctly, then get the shift indicator plug through the transmission, plus stop the accumulator(I think that was it) spring from falling out. Then put the bolts in. Two people would be nice. I did mine byself underneath the truck on a creeper. Half of it in the dark.

I would do it again before spending the money to have someone else do it.

However I am going to cough up the coin to have the torque converter installed.

I am very happy with my Goerend setup and plan on ordering his triple disc converter.

really easy, go with dave from Goerend's transmission, I did mine with a new converter, adjusted the bands, and replaced the strap and anchor and when I made a mistake dave walked me through it and was up in running in no time. I would save the coin and do it myself.. Oh wait, I did..
