fluids
I just put in Valvoline Syn. for the tranny. As for the diffs, use anything that is GL-5 rated....whether that"s Amsoil, Royal Purple(pretty pricey stuff) or any regular 75w90(also GL-5 rated). I heard if ya tow heavy alot to use 75w140 in the rear>
Correct, I am using 140 in the rear because I tow heavy and in a hot climate. I have the AMSOIL in there now but even with prefered pricing I am thinking i am going to go with Mobil 1 Synthetic 140 next round!
The book says warranty requirement is GL-5 Full Synthetic 75-W90 for the axles. My dealer says 75-140 for people who tow in hot climates. I've run Redline 75-140 in this truck and my last truck with good results.
I'd also say don't torque the cover bolts down to what the book says. Several people have had a bolt or two snap off. On my last truck, first change went fine, so I figured I wouldn't have any problem. Second change, though, one snapped off without even getting close to the ft/lbs specified.
Transfer case takes a bit over 2 quarts ATF+4.

As for diff I used Amsoil sever gear 75/90 and if your towing part time an some what heavy you could use 75/110 and it not be affected by the cold winter temps. In my trans I used Amsoil ATF as I know it holds up better then the factory ATF that Dodge used.
