valve body

how hard is it to upgrade the valve body in an 03 2500. i think the tranny is a 47re. i will check before i buy the valve body. i have 130,000 miles on my tranny, and im starting to feel it. i was hoping to just do a valve body so i dont need to pull the tranny. plus its way cheaper than a rebuild, and its not slipping or anything. what do you guys think? i am 23, and im saving up for a house, so $3500 for a tranny will set me back a bit. but i use my truck for work every day, so it could be justified. do you guys think doing a valve body is a waste, and i should just get it rebuilt with a few upgrades, or will i feel a nice improvement with the goerend VB? thanks for any info.

Valve body is only what $500-$700. But can you use it in another transmission if your stock transmission fails. Something to think about. Also, how was the service interval on it? Maybe it's time.

You need to call Dusty Hawk, he owns HTS trans. He knows his stuff about the dodge transmissions. He has even helped people install vb's & such in their trans, over the phone & they didn't buy the parts from him !
