Well after advance sent me my first u-joint with only 3 cups i finally got a good one. The one they sell made by Neapco is identical to the factory piece ,which looks really cheap for a 600ft lb torque truck. Anyways it fit right in. The only problem was it is a sealed unit. The first side I put in I put a little extra grease in the cups. Well when I got it together it kind of bound a little. So the other side i didn't add any extra grease and that side moved freely. So I believe with the extra grease it kind of bound up the joint on the one side since there is nowhere for the grease to go. It should work in after I drive it. I'm not that worried. The joints look cheap I'm sure they won't last long anyway.

Well the saga continues. I put my new u-joints in they went in great. But I still have the same problem. From a stop in second gear when I let out of the clutch there is a squuueeek squuueek squeek type noise ,and i can feel a little shutter. Any guess what it could be I'm about to tear my hair out.

I would look at the clutch, maybe a bad release bearing?

Make sure you put enough grease in the new joints and take a hammer and bang all the way around the yokes for the cups of the joint. After I put all new joints ( the NAPA 351) it was still tight. My neighbor, who everyone calls the best heavy mechanic they ever knew, told me about this and bang, bang, bang it was all good. Those old timers always have a trick for everything.

I got the joints to move freely so that all should be right. I'm going to have to jack the truck up and pry on some things to see if I get any movement.
