How do i turn up the idle on my 03? Old girl is idiling a little low around 700. I am assuming i can do this manually? I mean with out electronics!

 

I have an 03 too but ive tried and tried to find how to do it myself but everytime i ask a question they tell me to take it to dodge so i guess ill have to give in.

 

I will try to get it this week end. I was hoping someone could take the guess work out of it for me. My local dealer is not a option. They know nothing about diesel.

 

The 3rd gen is not drive by wire. The throttle is computer controlled. There isn't a mechanical adjustment for idle RPM that I am aware of. You can get the high idle feature enabled, but that has nothing to do with the standard 750rpm idle and enabling it varies depending on whether you have a 6sp or auto.

You may be able to do a TPS adjustment, but I have read that messing with that is a delicate procedure that should only be done by an experienced mechanic. beyond that, I can't help much.
