Turn Wheel and Brakes Apply?

OK, here's a weird one. I turn my steering wheel and the more I turn, the harder the brakes come on. What causes that? THe dealer can't figure it out and are just wasting labor $ on it right now.

Thanks in advance!

hi
if it is one wheel then i would replace the brake hose for that wheel , inside sometimes collapses .

if it is both wheels you prob need a new /rebuilt hydro unit for the brakes .

hydroboost. it's the thing in between the fire wall and the master cylinder with lines running to and from the power steering pump. My 2001 did the exact thing you're saying. I think a rebuilt one was like $125.

Can you explain in more detail? What year truck- the 06 in your signature? Does it do it when applying brakes, or anytime? You turn the wheel, the brakes start applying, the more you turn, the more they apply- is that what you are saying? This will help us understand better.

Ding! That is the answer. The hydroboost burned up. Unfortunately, it took my front brakes with it, which seems weird because I got on it right away. I'm out of warranty but Dodge is picking up the tab less a small co-pay to fix everything with shiny new parts.

Funny thing is buckied got it right in less time and with less info to go on than the dealer!

Thanks for your help, and thanks to Dodge for standing behind their kit.

I know this doesn't help, but just imagine if that started happening to a Nascar driver as he turned left every time. Now that would be a hoot.
