Turbo turned gold....bad?

I just got back from a 1500 mile round trip towing my 5th wheel. I didnt think I got the truck very hot just hit 1400 on the EGT gauge a couple of times going over a few passes. I got fuel today and opened the hood to check fluids and the heat shield on the exhaust and the turbo look like I had them anodized a yelowish gold color. Is this normal??

Yes that is the clear coat changing color from the heat of the exhaust.

Hey. Maybe you just found the hidden treasure. I'd yank that think outa there and see if you can get several hundered bucks an ounce for it. A nugget the size of a turbo outa make a nice retirement.
