Turbo Questions for 05 HD Owners...?
I just look at a 05 Quad Cab sitting on a dealers lot...36,000 miles.
I open the hood and it had a bid RED Banks Intake for the Turbo on it.
Also, I looked under the Truck looked like a BIG Stainless Resonator and also a Stainless Banks Exhaust Tip on the Tail Pipe.
Did all this come stock on the Dodge Cummins HD...?
Somewhat of a stiff jerky ride in the hwy for a 2500 series and clunked a bit when switching from reverse to drive.
Any RED Flags about this yeard Dodge...???
Thanks for any info.
PS fuel mileage overhead readout got up to 23 HWY @ 60 mph...sound about right?

Sounds like someone has installed a banks setup on it. Does not mean something is bad, but it could have been a well hammered truck also. Hard to say on the tranny issues, could ahve upgrades done and they usually make the shifting a bit harder/firmer but wiithout any records hard to say. I would ask the dealer for the former owners info and see if he wiould contact them for you to see what was done. By the way most of what you have mentioned could be grounds for warranty to have been voided or restricted. Taht might be another issue you want to look into and be sure to get in writing from the selling dealer. Teh only RED FLAGS would be the possible warranty issues at that low of millage on the truck for you if you were to buy it.
By the way if some typoe of hardware or software has been modified the MPG is a very inaccurate number, take the overhead with a grain of salt.

I would need to get a very good deal on a truck like that unless you can talk to the original owner about it's history. Some states require that the dealer provide you with that information if you request it. Not sure if PA is one of them.
