Turbo boost ??

Turbo boost ??
What is normal turbo boost for a 2004 CTD with auto trans? I have very few mods: aeroturbine, banks bullet, torque tube. Others have claimed 30-32 psi and I can only get 20 psi max? Had all 6 injectors replaced at 57k by dealer and they performed the reflash at the same time. The truck just doesn't seem to have the power it did before.
Been reading this forum for a while and appreciate all the info.

sounds like they de-fueled your ride with that re-flash.
I run 32-35 psi but I made my own override regulator for the boost portion of the wastegate, so that's kinda misleading. I suppose stock would yield around 26 psi max.
Mine's a stock injector motor so nothin fancy there.

A stock 03-04 should only see about 22-24psi before the wastegate opens. You can get more with fueling mods, but the mechanical wastegate still opens at 22-24. You'll need a boost elbow to get higher. You can make one for about five bucks or buy one for about 20. Some guys get theirs off ebay. I made my own. 5 mins to make 15 mins to install. Now I see 30-34 psi.

I think my truck has an electronically controlled wastegate...at least that is what i was told. It's considered a 2004.5 and is the 325 hp version. I'll do some more investigating when I get back in town and can crawl under the hood. If it is mechanical, I would be interested in how you made the boost elbow. Just hasn't been the same since the re-flash. Also was told I could have a boost leak. Gonna fab a boost leak tester and see what I can find. Thanks for the help.

Your right. If it is an 04.5 then you have an electronic WG. In that case you would benefit from electronic boost fooler. I know a few guys that use the Quadzilla fooler and are happy with it. I Think you should be seeing more than 20 though. Your on the right track, check for leaks. For the record, some other members have noticed a power loss after dealer reflash.

I had the quad boost fooler, I got it in the DTR store... It worked great.
I saw 40 lbs with a stocker, but I was running the hot edge at the time with an MP 8 and an aftermarket trans...
I'd say you should at least see 32. Take it back to the dealer and tell them that their flash sucked!

Not sure if I can use the boost fooler...the Banks bullet connects through the map sensor. I'll check it out though and if it"ll work I will definitely try it. I think my first step will be the pressure test and depending on the findings I'll let the dealer know about the problems with the reflash. Anybody know: if the reflash has been done once can it be updated or corrected?
