Poll for TSB flash performance/non performance

**edit** Wait to do the poll until you have had enough time to see.

I got mine done today. Told the dealer about white smoke. I was only getting abut 7-8 mpg with my trailer hooked up. Time will tell if this flash helped.

Also, they ordered a drive shaft to try and fix the vibration. I gues some of the shafts were'nt balanced correctly. We shall see what happens.

Going to get it, next time I'm in for service, but I'm not going to make a special trip, unless my mileage REALLY drops when we switch to winter fuel.

Got mind done today. Going to take a 300 to 400 mile drive this weekend and will post results when I return. If the trip home from the dealer is any indication it is better but.... I don't trust the overhead. I am however wishing it's correct because if it is, mpg is up by 2.5+ I'll keep my fingers crossed (will be hard to shift that way)

If anyone lives in Ft. Worth vincity, then take it to the 5star on the south end. I took mine there, had a nice chat with the Service Manager, (not the advisor, his name was Joe (hispanic guy great to deal with, I gave him atta boy to his boss while he was standing there)) And they did'nt hassle me, I told em white smoke, and low mileage (I was getting about 7mpg with my trailer) I also told them about the vibration @ 72-73 mph the tech ordered a new drive shaft with no problem at all. I told them that I would send everyone I knew to that advisor and tech.

If you want the name or location of the dealership PM me, I don't think I can post it on here without getting in trouble.

Just fueled after flash. 300 miles with 95% hwy cc set at 75 - 80 mph. By hand = 16.8 overhead = 16.6. Well that makes the overhead just about on the money BUT I got 17.4 on the last tank (pre flash)

I will keep an eye on it and let you know if it changes.

Wow, can't understand why I did not put it in. It's a 6 speed. I don't think a trans should decide what gear I should be in. It's just to close to communism for me.

Plus .5 mpg unloaded and staying under the speed limit.

No mpg improvement with a medium load.

Can you guys give me some advice? I called dealer yesterday and asked about this TSB. I told them that I average around 15 MPG highway and 11-12 MPG city. They told me that this is normal and that they did not recoment the TSB on my truck. I am not experiencing any problems wit white smoke or anything else, just think mileage seems a little low. I have 4X4 with 4.10 gears. Any advice on wheather I should have this done or not? Thanks.

Got mine, hand calc avg 2 - 3 mpg increase.

Less drag off the line, smoother through the gears.

Love It.

Ditto-- worth it! 17.4 (by hand) running 60 95% highway 3500 DRW 4x4 w/ 4.10's--not too shabby. Pre flash never got better than 13.9 hand calculated. Overhead appears to be VERY close to actual and in my case a bit low. Smoother, "crisper" and mileage to boot--very nice surprise to a skeptic going in.....
