TSB 18-037-04; Fuel economy, white smoke

The reflash number above is to address white smoke, fuel economy (additional 1 mpg), and better accuracy of overhead MPG read out on 2004.5 / 2005 dodge trucks. I do not know if my 2004.5 truck has this already but I do know that the overhead read out is pretty far off therefore i am assuming I do not have this re-flash. I do have the "lovely" reverse honk / horn issue.

My truck has 150K miles, dealer states to perform this is $100 and that he can not tell me what level flash I have until they do the 1 hour of service at $100 per hour.

Is that true that a reflash outside of warranty is an hour of work? Can I get this done from someone other than a dealer?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

SAS

From what I gathered from my local Cummins they can't touch our trucks.. and even if they could/would its Dodge software so they wont have it.

By law they have to install sticker with reason for update and new version or part number of ECM.

Cummins does not have the software to access the Dodge ECM for the 3rd gens.

Yeah, I didn't get a sticker with my last update... been meaning to call.... but I know I got flashed as my voltage now is .2-.4 higher all the time.
