Trucks In Shop-need Help
Trucks In Shop-need Help
I don't what to tell the service guy tomorrow........... my truck is in for the following and they called today and said they can't find anything wrong.
1. Marginal cold A/C - warm on passenger side. ( Dealers says system is fully charged)
2.Drive line shudder on take off when trailer is attached. ( Dealer says none detected) yeh, no trailer.
3.Intermittent rough idle. (Dealer says no codes found, did pressure check)what?
4.Hard or inconsistent 1-2 shift, bang into 4th/OD under normal acceleration (Dealer said pressures normal)
What should I tell these guys if this is their last word. It's not my imagination. Wife complains about the a/c, the truck shudders at take off from a stop, and the tranny shifts hard most of the time. Thanks guys.

The A/C problem is most like from an inoperative A/C blend door. Lots of problems with these and a waiting list to get one.
Drive line shutter when towing is most likely the torque conver slipping. You may have to take it to them with the trailer attached to show them the problem.
Rough idle may be caused by a dirty fuel filter. I had one go bad at 10,000 miles and the truck ran like crap. Now I change it with every other oil change.
The trans issue is something lots of guys complain about. They just can't seem to make a trans shift right behind a diesel. Mine did this when it was new but eventually it was shifting too quickly. My next truck will have a 6-speed....

1.)We have a big thread on the 3rd gen no engine or drivetrain. This is a common issue on all new 3rd gen trucks from 03 up to 06. We have Beemo that works for D.C. that is helping us track down the issue. Get involved with the thread and read.
2.)This driveline shudder is more than likely due to the angle of the center carrier bearing in the driveshaft. It is a 2 piece unit. There is a TSB on this issue. Need to take the truck in with the trailer for them to see and correct issue. May also need to perform tranny flush.
3.)Change fuel filter.
4.)May be corrected with a tranny fluid flush. Depending on how many miles may need to adjust the bands in the tranny.
Hope this helps get you on the road to resolve your issues.
