truck wont idle down when hot????

truck wont idle down when hot????

My boss has a 2003 with a 6 speed manual trans when the truck is up to normal operating temperature and he comes to a stop light the truck idles at 1200 rpm with the clutch pushed in?? It has been to 3 different dealers and they say the truck is fine?? Any ideas?? The truck is bone stock

I believe that there is something in the computer that if it senses really hot temps or real low temps it Idles it up to 1000 RPM. I have never heard of 1200 RPM though. Maybe a temp sensor, computer needs to be flashed, or maybe something with the fan clutch. Just throwing some ideas out there.

Might be the FCA sticking mine does it to. Can you get it to idle down by stepping on the brake pedal hard or letting the clutch out lightly while not moving. If it idles right down I would bet on the FCA.

First check the FCA. Take it off, shake it and see if it rattles. If it does, should be ok. Next check the APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor). On the '03 it can be found either on top of the CP3 (under the rounded plastic cover) or under the driver side battery.
