Truck Stolen...Need to decide between used with 5.9 or New with 6.7 Liter

Now that I have a bone stock 2007 5.9L what are the best mods for fuel consumption both driving and driving with a 10K pound toy hauler in tow? Looking for a solution that makes economic sense, not to spend 10K to get 1mpg more. What do you guys think?
