Truck slipping out of 4wd

I have an 06 4x4 Automatic with manual 4wd shifter that will pop out of 4hi when taken off road. It will stay in 4wd on flat ground, but will pop back to 2wd when the roads gets rougher. It is fine in 4lo. Any ideas on how I should check the linkage? Is there a detent that keeps the lever in place?

Thanks for your help.

I was looking at the linkage and it looks like it might have slipped a little from its original location. Gonna adjust it and romp on it this weekend to see if thats the fix.

I adjusted the lever, but it didn't make a difference. It's like the transfer case is eager to disengage from 4wd and bumpy roads will allow it to do just that. It happens when rock climbing or high speed dirt runs, if the driveline gets loaded and unloaded it will pop out of 4wd and just be 2wd.

Is there an internal detent that keeps the transfer case yolk in place? Is it adjustable or easily repaired?

Please help if ya can.
