I'm agreeing with jrussell. If the tire is overinflated it domes putting less of the side tread on the road. The outer tread primarily helps control the sway of the vehicle. I experienced this on my DRW. When I bought it, the dealer had aired all 6 tires to 60 psi. As I would pass a semi, the rear of the truck would kick out away from the semi. I could see that the tire wasn't contacting the road on the outer inch of the tires. I aired them down to 40 psi and the ride was normal again.

Tread depth and tire height will cause a little flex. I have had tires as big as 40" on my trucks, but I have never experienced the side to side sway that I experienced on my DRW.

In adition to everyone elses suggestions, toe can increase wandering. I have 285 KOs and they seem a little squirmy, but I also have Moog greasables. Also, the bigger tires and their weight may affect your stabilizer.

That is a very common mistake the people make.

I am one of "those guy's" that always wanted a diesel and didn't need to justify it to buy it. I have never towed over 4k.....one you guys should hook me up with about a 10k load so I can break it in right

JWB600 It took me over a month to deciede on a tire, I was going to go with H2 take offs, but I like the stock wheel, then just the 315's, then I was reading on here and TDR about the "D" range tires and the ones with them getting bashed for it. The only 285 10 ply I could find was the Toyo, but It took my tire dealer 4 days to get them, but he made up for it 'cause the 285 BFG's K/O were 200.00 more than the Toyo's. I was not to sure about a tire made in china, but the reviews I have read on the tire sights were really good. The Nitto's were really close in price, but then again it was only a D range and everyone seems to like them at first, then @ 10,000 miles there 1/2 gone. So far after I got the pressure adjusted, I really like them, no whine and they look good too.
I thought Toyo's were made in Japan? Big difference between stuff made in China and stuff made in Japan.

There's a sticker on your door jam that tells the correct air pressures for the stock tires (loaded and unloaded). Your tires are relatively close to the stockers so I would use pressures close to what that door sticker says. The Toyo's seem to have VERY stiff sidewalls and prefer lower pressures than most tires. Just be sure you don't go so low it becomes unsafe (and always remember to put some more air in them when towing/hauling).

Oh, and I don't think the guys with D-range tires were really getting bashed. I think the guys who try to say D = E are the ones who were getting bashed a little.

Yepper.

P_Talley, try going to 45 rear and 50 front and see if the last 3% goes away. You can tell if they're too low by sidewall bulge and keeping an eye on wear during the first few miles. Considering the sidewalls are so stiff, I seriously doubt they would have any problems at those lower pressures.

The truck just seems to ride weird, just a little side to side of the sterring wheel and truck seems to be loose. Like the back end is way light. It's hard to explain....the old stockers only had about 5/32 left on them, could it just be the size of the lug ? It only has 29,000 miles on it , could I have front end problems already?
Thanks for any help
Like was said; Any new tires take some miles to settle in. If you want to feel a squirrelly set-up try a new set of radials on a big truck pulling doubles. The first 600 to a thousand miles are pure adventure
