Truck Died no codes ?
Truck Died no codes ?
The truck was warm and I decided to reset the trip. I had it pushed in when I turned the key on so it went thru the test, then I reset the trip.
Below are the codes
66 53
67 57
From what I understand this mean key stroke 66 P0053 HO2S Heater Resistance Bank1 Sensor 1
and key stroke 67 P0057 HO2S Heater Ctrl Circ Lo (bank2, Sensor2).
The truck was in for a new rail sensor and pop off a few months ago.
That was the background, now the question. I drove about 4 miles and the truck died, I put it in neutral as I coasted off of the road but it would not start. I stopped shut it off and it started and runs fine. When I got home I performed the 3 key cycle test - no codes, the trip button test has the same codes as before.
What would cause the engine to die with no codes thrown, no engine light, n water in fuel?

When you hold the reset button and turn the key, it sweeps all the guages, it is checking the cluster gauges. Therefore, you are only seeing cluster gauge codes.
If you do the 3 key on-off-on-off-on, then it will show engine diagnostic codes.
That being said, sometimes the codes do not show up right away. More than likely, if you have an engine mounted lift pump, that is your problem.
There is also a thread about a wire possibly grounding out near the starter that you may need to check out. The other thing it could be is your quad box.
