TheMoose,
Could you elaborate a little on the lift pump rattle? Inquiring minds want to know. ???

well it's not the lift pump that's ratteling (I should have been clearer!!)
what was happining is when sitting at an idle for a couple of mins (like at a drive through window) it'll start running rough for a couple of seconds & then let out a real loud rattle (like an old 12 valve motor), It's no big deal but it's probably a symtom of something.

I'm going to pick up my truck in a few hours so hopefully they'll have more info for me.

I had a 2000 Grand Cherokee that stalled alot when coming to a stop. Turned out to be the "lockup converter solenod in the transmission". Had to take it to a differn't dealer to get it taken care of and all that Chrysler would authorize was a throttle body clean and calibration. I hope this helps. It's a saftey issue of course.

It might be that the torque converter may not be unlocking. Watch your RPM.s as you slow. If your tach does not drop to idle as you let up on the throttle but slows as the truck slows (below 40 MPH) then the torque converter may still be locked. Does the truck try to increase speed as it comes to a stop and the RPM falls below 750?
Had a Buick that had this problem.

Well I got my truck back Saturday and everything seems fine. It runs great and I am happy with the dealership (Bob Malcome Peebles Ohio). They provided me with a vehicle during the repair time. Just wanted to let everyone know that the problem was the injection pump, and thanks for all of the responses.

Afriend of mine just had a repair done on his truck. The dealership couldn't find the problem until DC sent a video to them on what they thought the problem was. The fix worked so far. but I don't know what the problem was. His idle speed was also varying a lot. If I can find out the details I'll post them.
