transmission taking to long to shift
transmission taking to long to shift
Basically i took the truck to the dealer because it started acting funny when trying to shift from 3rd to 4th or maybe its 2nd to 3rd but it seems like it is slipping and the engine just revs i let off of it and it shifts fine. Dealer told me 2500$ to tell me whats wrong
so before i pull the tranny i am trying to trouble shoot. now i adj the front band to spec back out 1 3/4 and it took 80% of the problem away but when its at wot i can still tell its not pulling as hard. so i checked pressures and came up with this.
accumulator pressure. 50 mph just cruising 90-100psi
WOT 130 psi
iddle 55 psi
gov pressure. 60 mph 85- 90 psi just cruising when the tranny shifts from seconf to 3rd or 3rd to 4th which ever it is the gov. pressures drops to like 15 psi then jumps up to 50-60psi
front servo i got drop of pressure when i get on it but nothing over 100 and it doesnt climb really high till i let off all most.
now the truck is stock never had a downloader or anything on it 70k miles any ideas? do i just buy a new tranny or is this something electroinc or in the valve body? clutches? bands? not really sure kinda lost? thank you truck is an 05 auto. 48re

Well, I don't know squat about your problem, but I would call someone who does. Dave Goerend is one guy, and I have also had good luck with Suncoast.
There are several good trans guys that will tell you what is wrong, and then when it finally dies, give the helpful ones your business.
