A/C problems

I had A/C problems this week..... Nothing but hot air out of the vents. When I got home I found 1 of the A/C lines frozen... These trucks must not have the low pressure switch to cut the comressor off ( when low on freon ) like some of the other models....Added refriigerant & all is ok....I had a 1500 dodge gas burner that had low ps & high ps so it wouldn't freeze when low

Dude, that would be sweet! I want to upgrade the whole system, but it's not in the budget right now - especially as I may be facing some big cost on this tranny issue. If you have one sitting around from your upgrade, I can at least use it to keep me in good shape for the time being.

BTW, it was Midas who told me $600 for a muffler. The guy who quoted it was as incredulous about it as I was - he said we could look into an aftermarket system for less than that. I just didn't have time that day to talk to him any longer, and figured that I'd do some shopping on my own...then the tranny failed.

As long as the Delaer finds the source of the leak, let them do it then you can add pieces as you go. Make sure they pull the fluid-to-fluid cooler and pressure test it as that is the only source of water you should have.
That's good info 6 - I have talked to one local rebuilder and he had mentioned a radiator rupture as a possible source of the problem, but it sounds like that's not possible on this truck.

If I remember correctly, the dealership said that a pump seal failed, which allowed the water intake...I'll be sure to clarify with them when I talk to them next, probably today.

Not gonna happen, they are grasping at straws. If that seal is letting water in it will be letting fluid out, in large amounts.

The only way to get water into the pump is be submerged half way up the doors. The trans vent is above the input shaft.

Torque Converter failed and had a band fail as well while pulling a 2 horse trailer to Iowa. Most expensive weekend of ridding I've ever had!

The 5.9 muffler is already gone,,,, but,,,, I have a muffler off of a 6.7 which is much shorter than the 5.9 and will flow better,,,,, also have the extension tube for the inlet which makes it the same developed length as the 5.9 muffler,,, and has all the clamps and hanger pins still intact,,,
if ya want it send me your addy on a PM and ill get it boxed up and a quote for shipping,,, you can send me a postal MO for the shipping and I will get it headed your way,,,, have all the outlet piping to the tip if you want it,,,,

let me know,,,,
