Transmission issues

I have a 04 dodge 5.9 cummins and when I am driving, it has takes forever for it to shift into 2nd (25 mph) and 3rd at (45 (mph) I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find any codes or anything. I even had the 2 senors inside the transmission replaced thing that was the problem but nothing has seemed to worked so far. I currently have 97000 miles and truck has had little problems, until this started approx. 4000 miles again. This problem doesn't happen all the time. When the mechanic and myself went for a ride with the code reader hooked up (no codes) it wouldn't do it. (it did it all the way to the dealership) We drive for about 5 miles I pulled over into a parking lot and backed up for about 20 feet, then put it into drive and presto it started happening again. Like I said this doesn't happen all the time. Now the dealer wants to throw parts at it. Can anyone help?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Check for sticking throttle cable not always returning to closed throttle position. Could be in valve body also.

Like said.....check the TV cable. It hooks to the tranny at the top of the shifter cable. There is a shaft inside the shifter shaft for the TV cable. I've seen the linkage come a little loose and they bind for awhile after shifting like you said....(after you backed up and shifted back to drive). That would be the first place I would look. While you are under there, make sure the return spring is still hooked up too.
