Transmission going into reverse on its own while in Park

Just want to ask if anyone has had this happen, It happened to me this weekend as I was loading my boat, The truck went into the water and is a complete lost.

I bet you didn't quite get it into park and didn't realize it. I did that once when hooking up a trailer.... Luckily my e-brake held and I noticed the reverse lights on.

Sorry about your bad luck though. That had to suck watching your truck go into the drink.

I wish that was the case but it sat for 20+ min before it kicked into reverse. Then once we got it out of the water we had to take it out of park to tow it up the ramp. So it was in park and the E brake was on.

You didn't get the reverse horn honking crap? Sounds like the parking paw in the tranny may of had an issue. Weird.

No I didn't get the horn honking the door was shut, I have done some more looking and it sounds like it happens more the you would think, most of it is on 03-05's

The worst I've seen with mine so far is the dash indicator go off (between P & R). Any movement of the truck fwd or rev makes it lock into Park though. Never trust the park lever in the tranny; always use the e-brake.
