Automatic to Manual Change on 04' Cummins

I am looking into changing out my automatic transmission on my 2004 Cummins with a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission and was wondering if anyone has done this before or has looked into it? Any suggestions or things to look out for. I currently have the stock auto trans in now, which nothing is worng with, but would like to swap it out.

Good luck.... It is not impossible but will be very, very expensive to be done and if you want to sell it later people are going to pass on the truck no matter how good a job was done. Best thing to do is either sell the truck and get a manual truck or upgrade the 48re transmission.

I agree with the above post if you want a manual trans truck sell or trade your automatic trans truck and go get one. The conversion I believe would be expensive and as stated I would sure pass on buying a truck thats been converted myself.

If you do the conversion right it will look like it was done at the factory I have done lots of them and have had no problems with any of my cust selling them afterwards.

No offense intended and I'm sure you can make it look factory, but I still would not buy one I know that was converted unless I could pick it up for a song, maybe that's just me but I like the numbers to match. Doesn't the VIN tell you also weather you have a auto or manual.
