I have a 2003 4wd 2500. If trans is cold the truck will not go into first and will only start in 2nd gear. Once u take it easy thru 2nd it shifts fine into 3rd an OD. But if I get trans warmed up an than shut truck off an than restart it it will go into 1st an shift thru all gears? Don't understand why it only will go into first after its warmed up an after u have shut it off an restart it? Any help wud be appreciated. Thanks

 

Sounds like the governor pressure solenoid and transducer needs to be replaced. Shift it to first and see if you can go through the gears manually with no issues. The other thing to check is to ensure your fluid level is good. Make sure you check it with the truck running, in neutral, and parking brake set.
